At the end of Daemon Rising, Bob and Dot Matrix, Kathleen Barr got engaged, setting off a cascade of surreal, digital consequences. The newcomer looks like the original from Seasons 1 and 2, so Dot treats him as Bob, while the merged-with-his-keytool figure becomes known as Glitch Bob. Enzo Matrix, Giacomo Baessato (with contingencies from Enzo Matrix’s other voice, if you know the cast), becomes a focal point as Bob lobbies for trust and teamwork. The two Bobs, Dot, Phong, Mouse, and the rest of Mainframe rally around a shared goal: to understand which Bob is the original, which is the copy, and what that means for their future together. In the meantime, Bob’s rebootable energy earns him a place by the side of Matrix and the others as they use their skills to win various digital games and challenges, testing each Bob’s temperament and approach to problem-solving.

Counseling from Phong and Mouse helps Dot reach a decision about marriage to the “new Bob,” and she chooses to move forward with her plans. Glitch Bob, however, does not concede easily; he wields a stubborn determination to reclaim his own form in order to win Dot back. His efforts drive a poignant arc that ends in a catatonic state, lodged behind a dark, starry crystal that proves almost impenetrable. The wedding day itself becomes a crucible, as Dot’s father Welman is initially too nullified to attend; yet a sudden twist—the infection in Enzo’s icon spreading to Welman—makes him intelligible enough to walk Dot down the aisle in a gleaming mechanical suit, underscoring how intertwined life and code can be in Mainframe.

As Glitch Bob’s condition worsens on Dot’s wedding day, the guardians and the tools that had been separated from them during Daemon Rising return to the Supercomputer. Their mission: to separate Glitch from Bob and revive him before the ceremony reaches its irreversible moment. The guardians discover that Glitch Bob’s web-degraded code no longer matches what they have on file, hinting that he might actually be the copy. The tension peaks when Web Bob returns to Mainframe to halt the wedding, only for Dot to reject him in favor of the newer Bob. Even Glitch appears to abandon him, feeding the belief that Web Bob is the impostor. In a pivotal act, Glitch steals some code from the groom and passes it to Web Bob, restoring Web Bob’s body to its original form. Yet the twist lands hard: the posterior loss of that code causes the groom’s Bob to shapeshift, exposing a startling truth—Web Bob is the original, and the “new Bob” has been Megabyte in disguise.

A dramatic confrontation follows in the church as Bob engages Megabyte in a fight that tests every ounce of courage and cunning. Megabyte escapes by disguising himself as a Binome, and the truth behind his masquerade becomes clearer: Megabyte has become a Trojan Horse virus, enabling him to shapeshift and impersonate anyone. The revelation also traces back to a past misstep Megabyte made—he had inadvertently stolen a portion of Bob’s Guardian code when he crushed Glitch at the end of Season 2, and he weaponized that code to pretend to be Bob until Glitch returned it during the wedding. Megabyte’s plan evolves into a broader campaign as he impersonates other Mainframers, including Mike the TV, and reconstitutes his viral army by adopting new aliases and even taking on the form of Frisket to infiltrate the war room. His cunning allows him to suborn key personnel and, crucially, to capture Enzo, securing a devastating grip on the Principal Office.

The climax tightens into a stark countdown, as Megabyte’s deception, prowess, and existential hunger for revenge push Mainframe toward a perilous new era. He no longer seeks to seize the Supercomputer outright, nor to conquer the wider world of Mainframe; instead, his goal is vengeance against the very guardians who stood against him for so long. The film ends with a foreboding note, the virus-empowered antagonist signaling a grim future by declaring a chilling, self-assured refrain: “Prepare yourselves… for the hunt!”
