Shivjit [Ammy Virk] leaves his family for Chandigarh to chase a better future, heading north with a mix of hope and nerves after two failed attempts and a cautious push from his relatives toward an arranged match with Aman [Tania]. The city looms large with possibilities, and he soon slips into a search for casual connections, hoping to keep things light as he figures out where he belongs. Yet fate has a softer plan for him: he meets Bani [Sargun Mehta], a modern, confident woman who shares the same apartment building and carries herself with quiet assurance in a world that often feels unpredictable.

Bani’s life has already been touched by trouble; she discovers her boyfriend cheating and, in a bid to reclaim some power over her narrative, she enlists Shivjit to pose as her fake boyfriend. Their initial encounters are electric but careful, filled with moments of humor, tension, and a growing sense of trust. As they spend time together, what starts as a charade slowly grows into something more real, and the distance between them begins to blur.

The drama intensifies with Gurnam Singh [Guggu Gill], Bani’s strict father, who imposes boundaries that push Shivjit away from the neighbourhood. With the threat of an arranged marriage looming, Shivjit returns to his village, forced to weigh duty against the pull of his developing feelings. The path he takes next leads him to Aman, and he seems poised to marry her, but the momentum is interrupted when Bani’s father arrives to shape a different future for him. The forced separation takes a toll, and Bani’s health begins to falter as she battles a chronic illness and a severe infection, a harsh reminder of the fragility of life and the stakes of love.

Shivjit visits Bani, doing what he can to support her recovery, but the realities of their different lives push him toward another impending commitment—his upcoming marriage—an arrangement he feels he must acknowledge and share with Bani. He informs her about the marriage arrangement, and she responds with a quiet resilience that speaks to the depth of their connection. Later, when he goes wedding shopping with Aman, he openly confesses his love for Bani, and Aman, showing understanding, lets him go to follow his heart.

The tale reaches its sorrowful hinge at the hospital. When Shivjit returns with his decision to live honestly for the woman he loves, he learns that Bani has passed away. The two lovers are finally separated not just by distance, but by fate itself, their story a bittersweet reminder of how timing, duty, and devotion can shape the course of a life.
