Ajayan is chased by unknown pursuers and escapes by boarding a bus to Chennai. On the journey, he meets Saji and, once in the city, he enacts a quiet journey of courage that takes him from fleeing danger to caring for a vulnerable child. In Chennai, Ajayan spots a baby girl abandoned on railway tracks and, despite a string of failed attempts to leave her with others, he cannot bring himself to part with her. He names the baby Kukku and, for the moment, fabricates that he is a widower, a facade that helps him protect the child as he navigates an unfamiliar urban world.

With the help of a chance meeting with Saji, they find a place to stay through a connection with a man named Menon. Ajayan also lands a job as a delivery man for a local supermarket, a role that takes him on daily routes through the city and keeps Kukku by his side. On the road to stability, Saji grows closer to a woman named Geetha, and the two begin to fall in love. Yet Geetha’s father opposes their relationship because he is adopted, a detail that adds tension to their budding romance and echoes the uncertainties woven into the lives around them.

As Kukku settles into the makeshift family, Menon’s wife and daughter Sandhya become affectionate toward the child, and Kukku’s presence gradually roots Ajayan more firmly in a life he hadn’t planned for himself. He finally opens up to Menon and his family about how he found Kukku, sharing the truth behind his decision to keep the baby rather than abandoning her. From that moment, Kukku rides along on Ajayan’s delivery routes, a daily passenger whose safety and future become the central concern of everyone who has grown to love her.

A curious woman later claims that the baby is Ammu, a claim Ajayan dismisses at first, clinging to the belief that Kukku truly belongs with him. Geetha herself visits Ajayan at home and attempts to reclaim the child, insisting that she is the mother. Geetha had believed her husband and daughter had perished in an accident, but the truth unfolds slowly: Geetha’s brothers-in-law had deliberately abandoned Ammu to seize wealth after killing Geetha’s husband. The revelation reshapes the stakes and reframes the fight over Kukku’s fate.

When thugs reach Ajayan’s home in search of the child, a tense struggle erupts. Saji’s father urges his son to do what’s right and return the baby to her rightful mother, a decision that weighs heavily on everyone involved. Ajayan soon uncovers a deeper conspiracy: Kukku’s uncles are behind the threats, scheming to eliminate the child to secure their own ends. In a moment of heartbreak, Ajayan calls Geetha and offers to relinquish the baby, hoping to do what is best despite his own deep longing to keep Kukku safe.

The conflict intensifies, and after a brutal confrontation with the goons, Kukku is injured but survives a critical operation.
