Primo (2005): Cast

Adapted by Antony Sher from Primo Levi’s harrowing memoir If This Is a Man, PRIMO dramatizes the author’s year in Auschwitz. First staged at the National Theatre in September 2004, it was hailed as a major theatrical event. Richard Wilson’s direction and Hildegard Bechtler’s symbolic set amplify the power of the story, while Sher’s controlled, towering performance mirrors Levi’s lucid prose, illuminating one of humanity’s darkest chapters.
