In the remote village of Gurramgattu in Telangana during the 1970s, a powerful and oppressive social order shapes every facet of rural life. Pedda Gangadhar [Yuva Chandraa], a local shepherd, has a singular mission: to educate his daughter Saraswati and to challenge the deeply entrenched norms that confine the community. He is entrusted with caring for a sacred sheep, the Pottel, destined to be sacrificed during a ritual held once every twelve years.

The village is governed by Patel [Ajay], a tyrannical leader who actively keeps lower-caste villagers from accessing education and perpetuates systemic oppression. Patel believes that education empowers people to question authority, and he uses fear and control to suppress any aspirations that could threaten the status quo.

Gangadhar, supported by his wife Bujjamma [Ananya Nagalla], persistently fights against Patel’s dominance, determined to secure a brighter future for Saraswati. Their struggle is not just a personal battle but a broader challenge to a social order that values tradition over learning and opportunity.

When Gangadhar loses the sacred Pottel sheep intended for the ritual, Patel threatens to sacrifice Gangadhar’s daughter if the sheep is not recovered. This crisis intensifies the conflict between the old power structures and the rising hope for education and self-determination.

The narrative weaves together themes of education, social empowerment, caste dynamics, and resilience in the face of systemic oppression. It presents Gangadhar’s journey as a bold statement about challenging tradition and defending a child’s right to learn, even when the odds are stacked against them. Amid rural landscapes and a community steeped in custom, the film underscores how courage and perseverance can illuminate a path toward a more just future.
