After becoming an orphan, Pollyanna is sent to live with Aunt Polly in a New England town. Though the locals share her aunt’s sour temperament, Pollyanna’s optimism—shown through her “glad game,” where she finds the bright side of everything—softens hearts and lifts the stale, weary community, inspiring hope and leaving a lasting influence on everyone.
