Ryan Philip Sanoop Santhosh is a smart, endearing schoolboy who struggles with mathematics. To dodge his maths homework, he falls into mischief, including a troubling ego clash that leads him to stab his classmate Decimal with a pencil. This impulsive act sets off a cascade of consequences he doesn’t fully foresee.

He shares a loving, if busy, bond with his father Roy Philip Jayasurya and mother Sameera Roy Remya Nambeesan, and he looks up to his grandfather Richard Philip Joy Mathew, a careful antique collector whose quiet wisdom anchors the family. During a visit to his grandfather’s house, Ryan encounters a magical and mysterious object—the monkey pen—which seems to take over his math work, instantly transforming how he handles calculations and problems.

With this newfound help, Ryan’s life starts to tilt in surprising directions. He also endures heartbreak when his girlfriend Joan dies in a devastating school bus accident, a tragedy that reverberates through his circle of friends and family and reshapes his outlook on school, risks, and responsibility.
