Vijay Krishna is a musician from a family deeply rooted in music. He lives with two married sisters, their husbands, and his uncle, in a home where melodies shape daily life. The whole clan shares a devotion to music, and his father, Satyanarayana, is constantly seeking a suitable matrimonial match for him. He recalls a dream he had of a girl, though her face remained unseen; what stands out is a mole beside her belly button, a detail that becomes a guiding clue as the search for her continues.

His father eventually arranges a marriage with Kalyani, who hails from a nearby village and also belongs to a musical family, underscoring the cultural and artistic bonds within their world.

Vijay then lands a job in Ooty as a music lecturer. There, he meets his dream girl Swapna and immediate affection grows into love. He proposes, and she accepts, filling him with hope for a future together. He returns home to share the joyous news, only to discover that his father has already set up the marriage with Kalyani.

As the story unfolds, Swapna learns a startling truth: the person she loves and Kalyani’s fiancé are the same man. To complicate matters, Swapna and Kalyani turn out to be sisters. In a heart-wrenching turn, Swapna sacrifices her own happiness, telling her sister about a terminal illness and asking Vijay to honor her memory with a noble dying wish to marry Kalyani. Kalyani herself comes to understand that Vijay’s heart belongs to Swapna, her sister.
