Suryamangalathu Brahmadathan Namboothiri arrives in the quiet village of Bhrahmadesham with a singular mission: to capture a lingering ghost that unsettles the local people. With the help of a steadfast local maiden, he manages to subdue the spirit and seal its power using a sacred anklet. Before he leaves, he warns the villagers that any disturbance to the anklet could awaken the reborn menace, a warning that threads through the rest of the tale.
