Dev is a high school dropout and a rough village lad who is determined to get married, even as the girl he loves rejects him for lacking a college education. Undeterred, he decides to head to Kolkata to pursue further studies and prove himself capable of building a future. Along the way, on a train to the city, he steps in to defend a group of college girls from rowdies, showing a mix of street-smart courage and quick wit.

In Kolkata, at the college, he meets Riya and finds himself falling for her. But Riya is pursued by a city gangster, Rudra, who is determined to win her by any means and uses threats to keep others away from her. Rudra’s hold over Riya sets up a tense dynamic, while, in parallel, henchmen of the feared Dubai Keshto—who operates from Dubai—are also converging on Dev in the city.

Dev’s path twists further when he learns that Dubai Keshto’s daughter Kavita loves him after witnessing the train confrontation. Seizing an audacious plan, he pretends to walk away from Riya and chooses Kavita, aiming to win Kavita’s hand and then elope with Riya. He explains to Kavita that her attraction to him is not genuine love but infatuation, and he attempts to illuminate what love truly is and how it develops, hoping she’ll understand his point.

When Dev explains to Riya why he initially shunned her in front of Dubai Keshto, she begins to grasp the plan and appears willing to cooperate. The scheme hits a snag, however, at its first attempt due to Rudra and Dubai Keshto’s interference, with Rudra having previously warned that Dev cannot be trusted as a loyal son-in-law.

As the plot unfolds, Dev tries to convey to Riya that his long-term love lies with Kavita, and that no one holds the same place in his heart as she does—an effort that aims to outlast the chaos and misdirection. What follows is a blend of playful deception, heartfelt confession, and calculated moves designed to reveal his true feelings for Riya to Dubai Keshto, all while navigating a web of loyalties, threats, and genuine emotion. The tale threads through moments of humor and confusion, ultimately steering toward a resolution that stays true to the core bond between Dev and Riya.
