A London-based criminal psychologist, Maja, tracks the case online, drawn by the unfolding online chatter and the uneasy feel of the evidence.

On a fateful return trip home, Elle is kidnapped by Trond and held in a secluded forest hut, forcing Maja to re-enter the investigation with renewed urgency. With Erik and the police on her side, Maja closes in on Trond, determined to bring the killer to justice and rescue Elle.
