What Is Our Town About?
The premise of Our Town without spoilers.
In 1906, Takichi returns to Japan after a grueling migrant stint in the Philippines and becomes a rickshaw driver. His beloved has died of illness, leaving their infant daughter, Hatsue. As Hatsue matures into a striking young woman, she falls for Shintaro, but a disapproving Takichi blocks their romance, creating tension between duty and desire.
