Umesh Manohar [Nivin Pauly] is a 21-year-old lazy and spoiled engineering student who has 42 backlog subjects to clear, living in Thalassery. His closest friends are Shaji [Aju Varghese] and Thankaprasad [Neeraj Madhav]. Desperate for money and fame, he dreams of helping the renowned director Gautham Vasudev Menon and hatches a plan to make a short film and upload it online. The idea falls apart when a mishap costs him the camera, and his father, George [P. Sukumar], orders him to help run the family shop.
To avoid a bleak future, Umesh boards the next train to Chennai from Thalassery. On the way, he spots his neighbor, Daisy George [Manjima Mohan], and tries to win her over during the journey, even lying to his friends that they are involved and tricking her into posing for a selfie he sends to Shaji. After six days in Chennai, he realizes the film world is tougher than expected and returns home, where a wave of gossip greets him about an elopement with Daisy. He learns that Shaji fed the rumors, and he rushes back to Chennai with Shaji to confront the issue, where they cross paths with a private detective named Jack Tracker [Vineeth Sreenivasan], with whom Umesh had clashed earlier while pursuing Daisy.
With Jack’s help, Umesh finds Daisy, only to learn that she loves Harinarayan [Unni Mukundan] and wishes to marry him. She reveals that she has known Hari through online correspondences—Facebook and emails—but they had never met in person. The quartet—Umesh, Daisy, Shaji, and Jack—set out to find Hari and travel to Pazhani. A farmer, also a fellow Keralite, helps them reach Hari’s house. There, they discover Hari had died by suicide a year earlier after being cheated in a business venture by his partner, John Mathew Bhaskar [Bobby Simha], who later used Hari’s online accounts to defraud others.
Jack then drops a bombshell: he is actually a CBCID officer from Tamil Nadu, and his real name is Nivin [Vineeth Sreenivasan], and this investigation was his way to uncover the masterminds behind the online fraud—a scheme aimed at cheating young women. With the truth out, Umesh, Daisy, and Shaji return to Kerala. Months later, Umesh encounters Nivin again at a resort, who informs him that the cybercrime unit has tracked down the real culprit, John. In the final confrontation, Umesh confronts John at a table and, after a moment of hesitation, smashes a bottle over his head.
