Boog, a friendly and easygoing boar, originally plans an annual trip with his male friends to enjoy some quality time, but this year, things don’t go as expected. His closest friend, Elliot, has distanced himself since starting a family, leaving Boog feeling disappointed as most of his other friends prefer to spend time with their loved ones. Feeling somewhat left out, Boog makes the decision to embark on his own adventure, which leads him to discover a fascinating Russian traveling circus.

While there, Boog encounters Doug (Crispin Glover), a scruffy, lazy [bear], who is exhausted from performing in the circus and longs to be recognized as the true king of the forest and the ruler of all wildlife. Doug persuades Boog to switch his peaceful life in the forest for a new, more exciting one in the circus, convincing him that he can find the respect he’s seeking. However, it later becomes clear that Doug’s intentions were not entirely genuine—his real desire was simply to escape the confines of the circus, revealing that he used Boog for his own escape plan.

During his time in the circus, Boog experiences an unexpected and growing romantic connection with Ursa, a talented female grizzly born in Russia, who is known for her incredible skills such as walking on a tightrope, juggling, and dancing. Their relationship blossoms, showing that together they make a much more harmonious duo than either could be alone. Ursa’s charming performances captivate everyone, adding warmth and depth to Boog’s adventure.

When Boog’s friends - including Rosie, a lively voice who helps bring the characters to life, and other animals—learn about Boog’s disappearance, they put their differences aside and band together on a rescue mission to find him. Their goal is to bring Boog back home, but Boog, now deeply smitten with Ursa, is torn between his love for her and his loyalty to his friends. Just when it seems like all hope might be lost, Doug arrives at the circus, offering heartfelt apologies to Boog for tricking him into leaving the forest.

In a touching turn of events, when Doug performs impressive circus acts for the audience, Elliot reassures Boog that he can choose to stay if he wants. After much reflection, Boog decides not to leave Ursa behind and persuades her to join him in returning to the forest. The reunion is joyful, and Ursa quickly adapts to her new life among the trees, enjoying the freedom and beauty of the wild.

Throughout their adventures, Elliot also endures his own humorous mishaps, such as losing his antler for the third time, which provides comic relief amid the heartfelt moments. In the end, Boog, Ursa, and their friends find happiness together in the forest, embracing a new chapter of their lives.

In a post-credits scene, Alistair (Dana Snyder), along with Doug, are shown enjoying their travels around the world, hinting at more adventures to come and leaving fans with a smile.
