Released in 1981, this documentary by Yuri Ozerov captures the opening and closing ceremonies of the 1980 Moscow Summer Olympics. Ozerov received the USSR State Prize for the film in 1982. It was submitted as the Soviet entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 54th Academy Awards, though it did not become a nominee.
