Hari, played by Fahadh Faasil, is a brilliant yet anxious software architect whose obsessive–compulsive traits and self-righteous stance strain his relationships at work. His colleagues see him as a core asset, even as his outbursts complicate daily tasks, and the leadership hopes his work can speak for itself during a pivotal webinar for one of the company’s top-selling products. When a harthal strikes on the day of departure, Hari’s schedule collapses into a late-night train to Thiruvananthapuram.

In the same carriage, Gopalan, a veteran politician, Nedumudi Venu, receives news that his wife is gravely ill and contemplates turning back to Kozhikode. Narayani, often called Nani, Swathi Reddy, a compassionate social worker, joins him, intending to support his urgent journey home. At Paravur station, a moment of chaos erupts as Gopalan inadvertently drops his cell phone after stepping off the train. Hari becomes aware of the distressing call through Gopalan’s friend Moideen, Moideen who relays the bad news of the wife’s death.

Seeing an opportunity to help, Hari disembarks to retrieve his own forgotten bag, but the incident pulls him into the personal tragedy unfolding around Gopalan and Nani. He follows them on their return trip to Kozhikode, a path that disrupts his meticulously planned routine and even his hygiene habits, testing his ability to adapt. Nani, by contrast, remains unencumbered by rigidity; she embodies a generous spirit, eager to assist others and to see the world beyond her own schedule.

As the trio continues their journey, Hari confronts uncomfortable moments, learns to read people better, and discovers the value of stepping outside his comfort zone. The film uses the train, the small stations, and the changing landscapes as a stage for growth, patience, and connection. Hari’s interactions with Nani bring warmth and humor to the story, and the dynamic gradually softens his most stubborn tendencies.

Ultimately, the road makes a difference: Hari finds himself changing from a rule-bound, perfection-minded professional into someone capable of empathy, compromise, and vulnerability. A slow-burning romance develops between Hari and Narayani, and by the end, Hari has not only learned to cope with OCPD but also to love more openly.
