What Is Nivhek About?
The premise of Nivhek without spoilers.
Liz Harris, known for her work as Grouper, creates immersive sonic landscapes as Nivhek. The double album, After its own death / Walking in a spiral towards the house, explores richly detailed inner worlds through enigmatic vibrations and voices. The music combines Mellotron, guitar, field recordings, tapes, and manipulated effects. Accompanied by visuals from experimental filmmaker Takashi Makino, originally created for live performances, this work is characterized by its stark, primordial atmosphere, evoking feelings of fragility, feverishness, and otherworldliness.
