Night of the Werewolf 1981

In 16th Century Hungary, the werewolf Waldemar Daninsky Paul Naschy is sentenced to die alongside his satanic mistress Countess Elisabeth Bathory Julia Saly and her coven of witches. Since it is nearly impossible to truly kill him, he is kept in a kind of living death, with a silver dagger through his heart and an iron mask affixed to his face to keep him from biting. Centuries later, the dagger is removed from his chest by two graverobbers — First Graverobber Ricardo Palacios and Second Graverobber Rafael Hernández — and Daninsky returns to life, allowing a group of traveling college girls to stay at his castle. Among them are Karen Azucena Hernández and Erika Silvia Aguilar.

Karen locates the tomb of Bathory and is hypnotically forced by the Countess to perform a bloody ritual that brings Bathory back to life. Daninsky, torn between his centuries‑old fate and a growing love for Karen, witnesses Bathory’s return as she begins vampirizing the local inhabitants. He turns against his former mistress and her vampire slaves in a bid to protect Karen and the others.

In the crypt, a climactic confrontation erupts between the revived Bathory and the man who once commanded her. Daninsky fights with all his might, ultimately sapping Bathory’s power and sinking his fangs into her throat. The struggle spirals into tragedy as Bathory’s grip weakens, and Daninsky’s control frays. Karen, mortally wounded in the chaos, manages to stab Daninsky through the heart with the silver dagger, breaking the curse and ending the peril for the woman he loves.
