Hickson drifts from job to job, eking out a living, his only triumph being the marriage to his childhood sweetheart Jéssika, an evangelical hairdresser. Their modest life in Rio’s suburbs changes when he lands a gig at an evangelical radio station. With luck, talent and Jessica’s support, he swiftly becomes a pastor and rises to fame, but the new wealth and notoriety bring envy and fresh challenges.
