Naalu Policeum Nalla Irundha Oorum 2015

An outsider arrives in a village to deliver invitations, and the story unfolds in a place that prides itself on honesty and hard work. The local police station is small but close-knit, led by sub-inspector Chelladurai and staffed by three constables. The village earns a presidential award for being a model village, and life here is orderly and peaceful.

The people are inherently decent, and their everyday routines reflect that calm: work hours stretch from 9 to 5, Sundays bring a break, and the station often doubles as a social hub where villagers play board games and watch TV together. Among the constables, daydreamer Shanmughapandian secretly cherishes Subha, a schoolteacher, even as he struggles to confess his feelings.

With the village seemingly crime-free, higher officials decide to transfer the team to a different village known for unrest and riots. The news saddens the four policemen, who feel a sense of duty to protect the serene life they’ve built. In a misguided bid to prove their usefulness, Padhinettampadiyan and Chelladurai hatch a plan to ask a thief to steal some items, hoping to file a case that would justify their presence. Yet every attempt falters, and their scheme fails to materialize into any real wrongdoing.

As the plot unfolds, the men’s actions ripple through the villagers’ lives, testing trust, altering routines, and forcing everyone to reevaluate what keeps their community together. The film follows how fear of relocation, pride, and the desire for status intersect with everyday ethics, revealing that even well-meaning arrests at times disrupt the very harmony they aim to protect.
