During World War II, Korean men Kim Jun-shik and Tatsuo Hasegawa find themselves on opposing sides of the conflict, battling each other in brutal campaigns against China and Russia. Forced into the Soviet army, and later separated to fight for the Nazis, they initially harbor deep animosity. However, the shared horrors of war forge a desperate dependence on one another for survival. Their paths unexpectedly converge once more on the beaches of Normandy during the D-Day landings, where they struggle to survive the Allied invasion.
