ACP Shivakumar IPS, Raghava Lawrence, is a corrupt police officer who is transferred to Chennai and uses his position to amass money through unorthodox means. In his scheme, he lends support to an MP named GK, Ashutosh Rana, who has become a headache for Kirubakaran IPS, the Police Commissioner of Chennai. In a shocking revelation by GK, Shiva is Kirubakaran’s son, a fact that stuns the city and reopens old wounds. GK claims that Kirubakaran’s alleged negligence killed Shiva’s mother and unborn sister, but the real truth is more complex: Kirubakaran once left his wife in a hospital to help save several children during a terrorist attack. Unaware of this sacrifice, Shiva turned away from Kiruba, joined an orphanage, and rose to become an IPS officer with a singular mission—revenge.

In Chennai, Shiva meets Jaanu, a journalist for Sun News, Nikki Galrani, and Nithya, a deaf-mute philanthropist who works in a coffee shop. Shiva falls for Jaanu, but she rejects him because of his corrupt reputation. Nithya’s life is cut short when GK’s brother Sanjay murders her as she tries to safeguard a techie from a sexual assault near HITEC City. Nithya’s death inflames Shiva, turning him against GK. GK’s game plan is to elevate Sanjay into politics, and Shiva challenges GK to shield Sanjay from arrest. GK manages to kidnap the techie, aided by a transgender witness to Nithya’s murder. Shiva arrests Sanjay with a non-bailable warrant and dares GK to bring Sanjay out of jail within three days. Meanwhile, Kiruba and Shiva are briefly reunited, and Shiva’s marriage to Jaanu is approved.

On the third day, GK’s men kidnap the transgender witness and Jaanu. Shiva and his team race to the rescue, but the transgender witness is killed before they can reach her. GK then calls with a new threat: he has kidnapped Jaanu and Kiruba and demands that Sanjay be produced. GK kills Kiruba and Shiva’s team, and Shiva, aided by Nithya’s brother, takes swift action against GK’s henchmen after their release from jail. He reaches the scene, finds Kiruba alive enough to hear his heartbeat after a long vigil, and discovers Jaanu strapped to a bomb. In a grueling confrontation, Shiva overpowers GK’s henchmen and saves Jaanu. As reinforcements arrive, Shiva traps GK and his partners in a van, douses the vehicle in petrol, and blows it up, ending GK’s criminal network in a blaze of justice. Kiruba is hospitalized but survives, and Shiva learns that Kiruba is still alive thanks to the sound of his heart. The two brothers—Shivakumar and Kirubakaran—reunite in the aftermath, with a hard-earned sense of closure lingering in the air.
