Sri Rama Chandra Murthy [Raja] weds Satyabhama [Shriya Saran] after falling in love. Murthy is an NRI, and Satyabhama is a well-educated village girl. During their first night, Satyabhama enters the room at 10 P.M. and tells him that their grandmother advised they cannot meet until midnight, since the muhurtham is at 12 A.M. The couple eagerly awaits the clock striking twelve, hoping the moment will seal their bond.

A first-time thief [Brahmanandam] slips into the room at 11 P.M. during a sudden power cut, unaware that the newlyweds are inside. Satyabhama locks the door and keeps the key with her, thinking to block any intruder, even though the thief is already in their bedroom. As the thief rummages through the room, he tries to slip away by snatching the key from Satyabhama, turning a quiet night into a tense chase.

Amid the tension, the pair exchange words and reflections, and Murthy grows upset when, around 11:30 P.M., he learns that Satyabhama had lied about the muhurtham’s timing just to spend more time talking with him. The revelation strains their new relationship, shifting the mood from romantic anticipation to a bitter quarrel as the clock edges toward midnight.

In the climactic moment, the intruder finally steps out, and his unexpected presence inadvertently helps them address their disagreement. The thief’s exit clears the room, but more importantly, it prompts the couple to confront their misunderstandings and reconnect. The story resolves with the two of them finding common ground and embracing their union, ending on a note of reconciliation and togetherness.
