Ki-joon and Hee-yeol are best friends and students at the Korean National Police University. One night in Gangnam, while out after classes, they witness a young girl’s kidnapping and rush to report it to the local police. The station’s Missing Persons Unit, however, is overwhelmed by a high-profile case—the kidnapping of a business mogul’s grandson—and the urgency of the situation makes them feel sidelined. Undeterred, the two students decide to act on their own, believing the clock is ticking in the critical hours after a kidnapping.
Through their improvised investigation, they uncover a shocking truth: the kidnapper ring is tied to an unfertilized egg harvesting operation, and many more girls are being held at a hidden location. Their attempt to intervene ends in a brutal confrontation—Ki-joon and Hee-yeol are beaten, restrained, and left to cope with a harsh reality that their status as students offers them little protection. When they finally escape, they return to an empty hideout and a trail that has gone cold. Their professor, Yang Sung-il, warns them that pursuing the case could jeopardize their futures and lead to expulsion, casting doubt on whether they should continue.
Driven by duty, the pair decides to press onward. They sift through CCTV footage and manage to trace the van to a fertility clinic. What follows is a period of intense preparation: they train their bodies, secure armor supplies from the university, and mount a carefully planned operation. At the clinic, they fight their way through the enforcers and even confront their boss, Yang-choon, eliminating the immediate threat before calling in the authorities to arrest the kidnapers. Their actions, while reckless from an institutional standpoint, demonstrate a clear moral resolve that resonates beyond the university walls.
The aftermath brings its own consequences. The disciplinary committee weighs their courage against the rules they violated and opts for a punitive but instructive outcome: they are held back a year and assigned 500 hours of community service, a verdict that leaves them quietly satisfied, confident that they did the right thing. As they complete their community service, one final act of gratitude arrives: Yun-Jung visits them to thank them for rescuing her, underscoring the personal stakes behind their bold choices and the impact of their courage on the lives they touched.
