Midnight Run for Your Life 1994

Lorna Bellstratten, Melora Walters, a waitress with dreams of breaking into show business, is drawn into a dangerous setup when her drug-dealing boyfriend, Michael Vega, Vincent Guastaferro, pressures her to deliver a bomb to an undercover cop. The blast is meant to kill both Lorna and the officer, but the explosion only serves to spare her life and leaves her as the sole witness to the crime she didn’t fully intend. As the only material witness, she becomes a target for both law enforcement and Vega’s mob bosses, setting off a chase that spirals across continents.

Distraught, Lorna flees to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and, in a desperate act, contemplates suicide by hiring a hitman. Back in Los Angeles, Vega, who has been posing as Lorna’s father, hires Eddie Moscone, Dan Hedaya, a veteran bail bondsman, to fetch her back alive. Eddie assigns the job to the famed bounty hunter Jack Walsh, Christopher McDonald, for a price of $10,000. Walsh, though skilled, is reluctant; Eddie has a habit of stiffing him on payment, and the arrangement carries extra pressure because Eddie threatens to hand the duty to a rival hunter, Marvin Dorfler, if Walsh balks. Walsh tracks Lorna down to Cabo, and she misreads him at first, assuming he’s the hit man sent to finish the job. After a night of dancing and a bitter confrontation, Lorna learns the truth, lashes out at Walsh in a fit of anger, and retreats to her hotel room.

The pursuit intensifies as the real hit man soon arrives, and Walsh and Lorna manage to slip away, only to find themselves pursued by the hit man, by the police, and by Vega’s mercenaries who want the job done. On the run, Lorna’s despair deepens, and she keeps looking for new ways to end her life, even as Walsh fights to keep her safe. Through it all, Walsh faces a personal conflict: his growing feelings for Lorna complicate the mission and raise the stakes, turning a straightforward bounty job into a dangerous, emotionally charged escape. In this tense cat-and-mouse tale, the duo travels a volatile path from danger to uneasy alliance, with every close call underscoring how fragile trust can be when death and loyalty hang in the balance.
