Sanjay Malhotra lives in Mumbai with his friend Riya, enjoying a comfortable routine that hides his reputation as a carefree playboy. He isn’t serious about commitment, and his days drift by in light companionship, nightlife, and casual banter.
Everything shifts when his childhood friend Anjali Sharma calls with surprising news: she is getting married. Unfortunately, Sanjay has loved Anjali for years, and this revelation fills him with jealousy and a restless urge to intervene.
Sanjay goes to Anjali’s home and soon meets her groom, Rohit Khanna. Reprimanded and lovingly chided for his playboy persona, he is not taken seriously by anyone, which only fuels his resolve to derail the upcoming union. He begins to scheme, orchestrating a bachelor party for Rohit and all the men in the family, hoping to unsettle the couple through Rohit’s intoxication. Rohit ends up completely drunk and, sensing that Sanjay is bent on stopping the marriage, vows to make sure Sanjay fails in his plan. Meanwhile, Sanjay and Riya plot to make Anjali jealous in the hope that she will realize she loves him.
At Anjali’s Mehendi ceremony, Riya tells Anjali that she and Sanjay were never lovers, a revelation that shakes the brides-to-be. Anjali counters with a truth of her own: she has loved Sanjay all her life, but he never understood it, treating her instead as his best friend. Rohit is heartbroken when he learns of this, and he confides to Anjali’s mom that she and her daughter had always chosen the same man—Anjali herself had hoped Sanjay would marry her from the depths of her heart. The moment of reckoning arrives when Anjali, anxious about Sanjay’s absence at the wedding, travels to Mumbai in her bridal dress to see him and ask why he left.
Sanjay, moved by her presence, admits his love, saying that he can’t imagine her marrying anyone else. He declares that their futures must be shared, and Anjali responds with a reciprocal confession. The two finally acknowledge their love for each other, and Rohit accepts the turn of events with grace, choosing to celebrate rather than resist. In a touching finale, Sanjay and Anjali marry, while Rohit and Ria join in the celebration, dancing and singing at their best friend’s wedding.
