Strange thefts of N-Tek property pull Max Steel [Christian Campbell] into a pursuit of a dazzling new rival—Troy Winter [Brian Drummond]—who claims to be superior to Max in every sense. The chase intensifies as Team Steel realizes Troy’s plan is to seize a fragment of the Morphos comet by using stolen N-Tek technology and deliver it to enemies.

During a brutal clash, Troy tumbles into a volcano with a piece of the comet. The searing heat, fused with the comet’s components, triggers a transformation that turns him into a dark, crystalline creature with the power to extrude the life force and abilities of other beings, then he adopts the name Extroyer and begins an assault on N-Tek headquarters.

Amid the mayhem, Elementor [Scott McNeil] is released once again. Though extremely weakened, he pursues Extroyer in hopes of stopping him by hunting the comet fragments as a power source, but he is extruded and defeated.

Troy escalates his bid for power by taking Bertho [Alessandro Juliani], Kat [Lisa Ann Beley], and Jefferson hostage, forcing Max to obey. Extroyer leverages N-Tek’s stolen magnets, powered by Max, to steer Morphos fragments toward Earth so he can collect as many crystal fragments as possible.

Yet the plan unravels when it becomes clear this was all a setup, and Extroyer is cast into deep space, trapped on the comet’s surface.
