Marykkundoru Kunjaadu (2010): Cast & Plot

” His world is anchored by his family, including his mother Marychedathy, a woman admired by Ittichan, the village elder who still harbors a soft corner for her. Solomon’s life takes a strange turn when his father’s old wishes about lineage and marriage surface: he names his daughter Mary after Solomon’s own mother, a gesture meant to bind generations and hearts. The elder’s bargain is stark: if Solomon marries someone else, a gold cross will be given to the church; if he chooses to marry his daughter, Solomon must present a cross himself. Yet the town’s gossip mill is loud, and Mary—Solomon’s childhood beloved—carries a quiet fire of her own; she has long loved him, even as her brothers oppose the match and torment Solomon whenever they can.
