Alia Raj is a popular casting director in Mumbai who believes she has the perfect life, the perfect circle of friends, and the perfect outlook on love. Yet she longs for the perfect partner, the so-called Mr. Right, even as her friends—ever hopeful and deeply invested in her romantic life—keep nudging her toward relationships, engagements, and marriages. In a bid to regain control over her dating fate, she devises a bold plan that will test her beliefs and shake up her world.
Enter Sukhi, a man from Punjab who grew up in Delhi and dreams of making it as an actor. He has not yet broken into the film industry, but he brings a different brush of life to Alia’s carefully curated scheme. Alia hires him to play a role, the fictitious Vridhaan Dalmia, a version of Mr. Right designed to charm her social circle and quiet the nagging chorus of matchmaking around her. At first, Sukhi is the complete opposite of Alia—quiet where she is confident, skeptical where she is hopeful—but as he steps into the role, something unexpected begins to happen.
As Sukhi adopts the persona, he gradually wins the hearts of Alia’s friends, and even forms a bond with Alia herself. The ruse starts to feel less like a game and more like a chance at real connection. Among the circle, a real tension emerges: Abhay, who is dating the gold digger Diya, confesses that his feelings for Alia are more than platonic. Faced with this confession, Alia contemplates a future with Abhay, choosing the path she believes will make her happiest.
But Sukhi’s feelings for Alia are not so easily dismissed. The man who was hired to play Mr. Right finds himself slipping into something genuine, and his devotion to her flares into a quiet sadness that nudges him away. He withdraws, leaving Alia to confront a painful truth: the person she admired most as an ideal partner may be the one she’s been overlooking all along.
The heart of the story then deepens as Alia begins to question her own criteria for “Mr. Right.” What if perfection isn’t about fitting a predetermined mold or about impressing a social circle, but about recognizing and embracing a real connection when it appears? As she reevaluates her life, she discovers that love isn’t about scripts, plans, or appearances. It’s about timing, vulnerability, and choosing someone who truly resonates with who she is, not who she thought she should be with.
In the end, what unfolds is a thoughtful exploration of love’s unpredictability. Alia learns to see beyond the polished persona of Mr. Right and to listen to the quieter, more authentic signals of the heart. The story leaves viewers with a gentle, hopeful message: sometimes the person who seems least likely to be “the one” may be exactly what you need, and the dream of the perfect partner can reveal itself in the most unexpected ways.
