Randy Bodek is a rebellious college slacker who shares a chaotic, half‑baked life with his girlfriend Jenny Gordon. His furious father pushes him to grow up, come home, and get a real job. He lands a gig as a pizza delivery driver for Señor Pizza, but the money is meager, making it hard to fund another semester of college and leaving him anxious about whether he’ll be able to return to Jenny next year.
On one of his rounds, he meets a middle‑aged, wealthy Italian woman who pampers him and begins a quiet, intense affair. This relationship injects a new swagger into him: he starts dressing sharper, his mood lifts, and he starts receiving lavish gifts from his handsome Italian co‑worker, Tony, who signs the deliveries with “Love, Alex.” Randy’s increasingly confident appearance and the conspicuous gifts prompt his father to suspect that his son might be gay, a misunderstanding that colors the family dynamic.
When Alex must return to Italy, Randy is left with a mix of disappointment and fondness. He has enjoyed the romance, the luxury, and the chance to imagine bringing something new to Jenny when he returns to campus. Alex hints that the next time Señor Pizza gets a delivery order for pizza with extra anchovies, it will be her way of calling him back.
Soon after, more anchovy orders arrive—from Kyoko Bruckner, an unhappy married Asian woman; from Dr. Joyce Palmer, director of a women’s health practice; and from Monica Delancy, an isolated aspiring photographer. These encounters help Randy gain insight into what many women want and need, and they spark the early stages of an escort business centered on the “extra anchovies” orders, a venture he manages to keep under wraps from the restaurant’s management.
As suspicion grows, the three husbands become determined to uncover who is “sleeping with their wives.” They comb through their families’ financial statements and credit-card bills, tracing the money back to Señor Pizza and the mystery delivery boy who seems to be involved with all three wives. Meanwhile, Jenny arrives in town to surprise Randy and learns from Jory Talbot, a rival, that Randy has been seeing other women. Randy isn’t there, having just received an anchovy order—this one coming from his mother—and he hands the pizza off to Tony, instructing that they are out of anchovies.
Randy then learns from Sal about Jenny’s visit and Jory’s claim, and he and Jory end up outside for a confrontation. The husbands arrive and rush toward the scene, grabbing Randy and threatening to rough him up, but Harry, Kyoko’s husband, realizes that Randy is Joe Bodek’s son (a truth Joe had hinted at in a drunken moment, suggesting Randy might be gay). The tension erupts, and the husbands assault an unsuspecting Jory as the situation spirals.
Randy finally confesses to Jenny why he began the paid escort work. She’s hurt and unsure about their future, but she agrees to join him at his parents’ anniversary party. The party becomes a breeding ground for the conflict: the husbands pursue Jory, the party devolves into a brawl, and the men are arrested for assault. Jory learns in a crushing moment that his own mother was one of Randy’s customers, a revelation that shatters his own pride. Joe forgives Randy and agrees to fund his college again, while Randy finally introduces Jenny to his parents with a wary optimism for the future.
In the post‑credits scene, Monica and Diane bail their husbands out of jail and reconcile with them, while Kyoko decides to leave Harry behind in jail, choosing a path that severes the immediate web of drama and consequence that shaped the story.
