Love Untangled 2025

Park Se-ri is a cheerful high school student who wrestles with insecurity about her natural curly hair and secretly has a crush on the popular classmate Kim Hyeon. A new salon, Jangmi salon, arrives in town promising a sophisticated treatment called “Seoul Magic Hair Straightening,” a luxury she can’t quite afford. Her life shifts when she saves a new transfer student, Han Yun-seok, from drowning, and their bond begins to form.

As Se-ri learns that the salon is owned by Han Yun-seok’s mother, she begins to help him win favor with her, though she soon discovers her assistance comes from a genuine place. She sees how Ha n Yun-seok carries pressure from his family, and this pushes him to retreat from his own ambitions. A neighbor’s remark reveals that Yoon-seok’s father is a professor at a prestigious medical university in Seoul, and the weight of expectation erodes his confidence, even contributing to his wavering about the CSAT.

The school’s social circle rallies around Se-ri as she considers confessing to Kim Hyeon during a school trip. Yet, on the eve of the moment, Se-ri hesitates and admits that while she once liked him deeply, her heart has shifted toward someone else. The pair briefly explores a relationship, but a crisis pulls Yoon-seok away when he is assaulted by his father, compelling him to rush to Seoul to be with his mother.

Se-ri follows, and during a tense visit, she overhears Yoon-seok tell his mother that his aunt wants them to relocate to the United States to escape the violence at home. Yet he still longs for a life back in Busan. In a quiet act of care, Se-ri leaves a voicemail to Yoon-seok explaining that she valued him as a friend and doesn’t want to push their relationship further, hoping for a peaceful future for them both away from the turmoil at home.

Months pass and Se-ri graduates, choosing to pursue Marine sports in college. Her friends set up a blind date for her, which she skips, only to find out later that the mysterious caller was Yoon-seok himself. She apologizes for the harsh voicemail she left, and he understands after hearing another message she intended to delete. The two reconnect, and the group celebrates their eventual reunion, affirming a hopeful path forward together.
