In a quiet village, Sundaram is a talented yet lazy ladies’ tailor whose dream of easy wealth keeps him from putting in real work. His discicple Sitaramudu and friend Battala Satyam push him to labor, but Sundaram clings to a bizarre fluke that he believes will bring him prosperity without effort. A wandering Koyadora prophesies that Sundaram’s rise to power will come when he binds the life of a woman marked by a mole on her right thigh, a detail that both fascinates and terrifies him. He shares this uncanny forecast with his circle, yet they fear the menacing chieftain Venkataratnam, who will tolerate no misdeeds against women.

With that ominous prophecy swirling in his mind, Sundaram sets out to make his fortune by weaving his way into the lives of Sundari, the sister of Venkataratnam, and the trio of flirtatious young women who loom as possible brides—Nagamani, Neelaveni, and Daiya.
