Ilango [R. Parthiban] is a resourceful yet hopeful middle-class youngster with big dreams. He longs to secure a wealthy future for his family and is determined to arrange a marriage for his sister Kavitha [Mallika] to a millionaire, believing that wealth can open doors and bring security. This ambitious plan sets the stage for a lively, comic journey that tests loyalties, values, and the line between right and wrong.

Into this world steps Roopa [Raai Laxmi], the daughter of a powerful industrialist, and Ilango falls hard for her. Their romance unfolds against a backdrop of meddling relatives, shady deals, and the capers of Chellappa [Vadivelu], a wily small-time thief whose schemes light up the screen. Chellappa’s antics spark misadventures that push Ilango to question his priorities while keeping the laughs coming.

An on-the-road encounter with Nandha “Nandhu” comes courtesy of Ilango’s mentor, who, mistaking him for a future member of a wealthy family, hails his background. Unaware that Nandha is only seeking a place to stay through Chellappa’s services, Ilango rents out the upper portion of his building to him, creating an accidental bridge between Kavitha and Nandha.

As Kavitha and Nandha grow closer, Ilango—still misreading Nandha’s true status—teams up with Chellappa to drive them apart. Their plan to plant cannabis and hire a prostitute to sully Nandha’s name backfires, and Kavitha’s faith in Nandha only grows stronger.

Meanwhile, Roopa is initially promised to another man, but Ilango rescues her from her situation and brings her to his residence. With his infatuation shifting toward Roopa, Ilango’s quest to secure a wealthy groom for Kavitha continues, even as he finds himself repeatedly duped by fate and flawed promises.

Back at Nandha’s side, Nandha’s father experiences a change of heart, seeking forgiveness from the family and welcoming his son back home. This turning point makes Ilango realize that wealth is not the sole measure of happiness or virtue.

Buoyed by this awakening, Ilango approaches Nandha’s father to ask for his son’s hand for Kavitha. The father refuses, arguing that Nandha could not marry the sister of a man who deceived others. He instead arranges Nandha’s marriage to the daughter of an education minister, setting up a fresh obstacle for Kavitha and Nandha.

Not giving up, Ilango and Chellappa scheme again, this time disguising themselves as caterers to infiltrate the wedding hall and swap Kavitha in place of the bride. The audacious plan succeeds, and Kavitha and Nandha are wed.

At first, the father and minister are outraged, but the weddings eventually win their approval. In a joyful finale, Kavitha and Nandha celebrate their union, while Ilango and Roopa also seal their own happiness at the same wedding hall.
