Maayaandi Thevan Vijayakumar is a warm-hearted and protective brother who cherishes his younger sister, Virumaayi Radikaa Sarathkumar with every breath. The two siblings share a deep, unspoken understanding and a bond that feels almost unshakeable in a village where family ties shape every quiet moment and every decision. Virumaayi, in turn, brings tenderness back to their relationship, radiating affection and loyalty that makes their small world feel safe and complete. Virumaayi’s marriage to Sivanaandi [Napoleon], from the neighboring village, seems to anchor the family in harmony, at least at first, as the couple appears to embody a union built on mutual respect and shared history.

Yet a rift lurks behind the smiling festival lights. Periya Karuppu [Suryakanth], the brother-in-law, resents Maayaandi’s close bond with Virumaayi and resents the perceived sway Maayaandi holds over the family’s peace. He sow s the seeds of discord during a village festival, orchestrating a division between Maayaandi and Sivanaandi that rattles the house’s foundations. The deceit grows loud and bitter, and Periya Karuppu’s wife, in a moment of grim clarity, realizes the consequences of these schemes and takes her own life. The tragedy reverberates through the family, and Sivanaandi, convinced that Maayaandi is the cause of the suffering, severs all ties with his sister-in-law’s world, forbidding Virumaayi from visiting her brother. The loss is compounded when Periya Karuppu dies soon after, as if the village’s old enmities had finally claimed two lives.

Time moves on, and the present returns with a quiet, inevitable pull. Maayaandi’s son Seenu, who has spent years away in the city, arrives back in the village and encounters Pechchi, Virumaayi’s niece, reigniting a forbidden spark between them. The memory of love past and the fear of further heartbreak push Sivanaandi to act, trying to separate the young couple before their bond can deepen. He schemes to arrange Pechchi’s wedding to his own nephew, Chinna Karuppu [Pandiyan], a spoiled and roguish young man whose attitudes clash with the family’s old codes. Pechchi, with the help of her mother, escapes her planned fate and meets Seenu, rekindling a romance that refuses to bow to centuries of feud.

A fierce clash erupts between the two villages as accusations fly in every direction. Maayaandi and Sivanaandi blame one another for letting Pechchi and Seenu defy tradition, and the confrontation escalates into a brutal test of loyalties, strength, and love. Chinna Karuppu steps into the fray, testing Seenu at the fighting ground, and Seenu’s resolve prevails. Yet Chinna Karuppu makes one thing clear: he is no enemy of their love, even as he harbors anger toward Sivanaandi for not supporting his father’s cause, the cause that led to Periya Karuppu’s death.

In the climactic moment, Virumaayi pleads for mercy on her husband’s life, asking Maayaandi to spare Sivanaandi. The plea is heard, but the moment fractures the family’s continuing dream of unity. Sivanaandi moves to strike, and a desperate confrontation ensues. In a shocking, heart-stopping turn, Virumaayi intervenes, taking a wound to the neck from Sivanaandi as she places herself between husband and brother. With her last act, she removes the mangalsutra, severing the ties that bound her to Sivanaandi, and dies cradled in Maayaandi’s arms. The village falls into a heavy, mournful silence as Maayaandi, carrying Virumaayi’s body, walks away with a sense of irrevocable loss, while Sivanaandi lingers in the distance, his heart broken by the consequences of a feud that claimed the life of the woman who held the family together.
