King of Thorn 2010

King of Thorn unfolds as a science fiction survivor drama that places a global crisis at its core. When a deadly outbreak called the Medusa virus spreads from Siberia across the globe, an organization named Venus Gate selects 160 volunteers to test a possible cure under controlled, high-stakes conditions. Among them is Kasumi Ishiki, chosen for the experiment, who must endure treatment and cold sleep while separated from her twin sister Shizuku Ishiki, whom she cherishes.

Just 48 hours later, several of the sleepers awaken to a startling reality: the facility meant for their care lies in ruin, overrun by a lush jungle of trees and twisting vines with thorns, some seeming to act with purpose. The survivors quickly realize the place is far from ordinary—it’s crawling with strange monsters and other aberrations of nature. What begins as a medical experiment soon reveals that the changes are not random or natural: the sleep was too brief, and the crisis is part of something far larger than anyone anticipated, forcing the group to navigate a perilous environment, dwindling resources, and an unsettling truth about the Medusa virus and the experiments designed to conquer it, all on the island where they landed.
