Gena Ryzhov, Marius Jampolskis, is a young hacker whose life orbits around computers and the vast reach of the Internet. His girlfriend leaves him because of his miserly lifestyle, a consequence of his single‑minded devotion to his digital world. In a bid to mend things, he purchases an ancient jug from an online auction and unexpectedly releases a genie. The genie, Khottabych, Vladimir Tolokonnikov in the film, offers him three wishes, setting off a chain of unforeseen events.

The first wish brings a startling spectacle: a colossal flood of US$100 notes appears, printed on papyrus because Khottabych isn’t familiar with modern money. This quirky magical misstep triggers trouble that Gena never could have anticipated. Soon, the local mafia takes note of Gena’s talents and tries to coerce him into breaking into bank computers. At the same time, both Russian and American law enforcement hot on his trail race to contain the widening mess caused by his online escapades.

To counter the growing danger, the Americans deploy a skilled hacker named Annie, played by Liva Kruminya. She enters Gena’s world with calculated intent, but their uneasy alliance soon blossoms into romance as they navigate a web of surveillance, danger, and shared attraction. Their budding relationship adds a human current to the escalating techno-thriller, lending a personal stake to every high‑stakes move.

Complicating matters further is an evil genie, Shaitanych Mark Geykhman, who hunts for the jar to collect all 13 genie‑vessels and seize dominion over Earth so that dreams can never be fulfilled. As the danger tightens, Gena’s final wish reshapes his fate: he chooses to become a mortal man, a decision that ultimately proves fatal when Shaitanych kills him. What remains is a single strand of Khottabych’s hair, a strange clue that leads Gena and Annie to decode the genie’s DNA and upload the binary code into the Internet, triggering a climactic and surreal battle between Khottabych and Shaitanych.

In the end, the film spins a wild fusion of myth and cyberspace, where ancient magic collides with modern technology. The stakes are personal, the romance is genuine, and the danger is tangible as the protagonists confront a world where power, money, and dreams intersect in a digitally charged showdown.
