Through their conversation, Bharathi learns about his work in aiding the poor by arranging loans that empower families to start or grow their own plots. She comes to admire not just his business sense, but the dignity he gives to people who might otherwise be overlooked, and a quiet bond begins to form between them.

Their romance grows into a wedding after a warm, tentative meeting between families. Kamalakannan’s father, Ramasamy, and his grandmother, Appatha, are wary of Bharathi’s education and professional background entering their simple rural life. To ease the transition, the family arranges for the couple to live separately, hoping that Bharathi can adapt to the new rhythms without feeling constrained by tradition. Appatha learns the truth of Bharathi’s situation and moves with quiet resolve. She travels to Kamalakkannan’s home and, instead of turning away, offers care and acceptance, inviting Bharathi to stay with the family. This gesture signals a shift in the family’s dynamics, turning a previously tense situation toward inclusion and support.
