Ju-On: Black Ghost 2009

Black Ghost unfolds in seven connected segments, centering on Tetsuya Koji Seto, Yuko Ai Kago, Ayano Yuno Nakazono, Fukie Hana Matsumoto, Yokota Masanobu Katsumura, Mariko Yuri Nakamura, and Kiwako Maria Takagi.

After Fukie Yokota collapses at school, she is rushed to the clinic. She and her mother, Kiwako, return home once she recovers, but Fukie suddenly lets out strange meowing and croaking noises and mutters to her father that he will kill “that woman.” During a psychology test where Fukie is hypnotized, she becomes even more unstable, and she must stay at the hospital under the care of a nurse, Yuko.

The doctor reveals a cyst in Fukie’s body, but it is actually the physical remnant of Fukie’s unborn twin who merged with her body during birth. Knowing Fukie’s condition is supernatural, Kiwako reaches out to her sister Mariko, who is spiritually aware, to examine Fukie. Mariko concludes that Fukie’s twin is a parasite and performs an exorcism to expel the evil spirit, but the spirit tricks Mariko into expelling Fukie’s own essence instead. The spirit-possessed Fukie returns to Mariko’s house and kills Mariko along with her husband and son, Yoshiyuki and Takashi, despite Fukie’s attempt to buy them time to escape.

The spirit in Fukie’s body is taken back to the hospital, and in a last-ditch effort, Kiwako carries Fukie’s body and leaps from the rooftop, killing them both. Yet this act releases the spirit, which begins to terrorize Ayano and even drives Yoshiyuki to murder Kiwako, fulfilling the spirit’s dark prediction. The malevolent force then travels to Yuko’s apartment to kill her and her young neighbor, Tetsuya.
