A Chinese Singaporean chef, once working in Tokyo, travels to Okinawa seeking to learn traditional Okinawan cooking from an aging chef. Simultaneously, a Japanese food critic journeys to Singapore, experiencing the vibrant world of Southeast Asian cuisine. Unbeknownst to each other, they are both searching for closure after a painful breakup years prior. He seeks her in her hometown, finding solace in the art of Okinawan food, while she seeks understanding in Singapore. Their paths eventually converge, and he prepares a final meal for her, revealing the balance of Chinese and Japanese cultures—a harmony they lacked in their relationship.
