In the quiet town of Paradise, Massachusetts, the case lands on the desk of Jesse Stone, the town’s chief of police, when a teenage girl is found dead in a lake. The first tangible clue comes from a high school ring marked with the initials HR, unearthed by the steady, soft-spoken hands of Luther “Suitcase” Simpson. As the evidence begins to surface, Jesse finds himself haunted by disturbing dreams about the girl’s death, a shadow that follows him into his isolated waterfront home where his dog Reggie watches and his phone keeps ringing with calls from his California-based ex-wife.
