In the mixed Arabic‑Jewish seaside city of Jaffa, near Tel Aviv, Reuven Wolf runs a car garage. His self‑absorbed wife Ossi makes life difficult. Their daughter Mali secretly loves her childhood friend Toufik, an Arab youth helping his father Hassan, a longtime mechanic for Reuven. A tragedy strikes, changing their plans to run away together forever.

At the heart of this narrative is Reuven Wolf, who runs a car repair garage. His wife, Osnat ‘Ossi’ Wolf, is depicted as a self-absorbed woman whose behavior complicates the lives of those around her.
