Ajith Prajwal B. P. is a college student and an aspiring filmmaker living in Thunga Boys Hostel. His friends constantly tease him about not having a solid “story and structure” in his films, a critique that weighs on his creative drive while the dorm buzzes with late-night edits, goofy schemes, and the pressure of impending exams. The hostel itself begins to feel like a backdrop for both ambition and mischief, where friendships are tested, ideas collide, and laughter flares up amid the chaos of student life.

One night before the exams, the hostel warden, Ramesh Kumar Rakesh Rajkumar, commits suicide, leaving a note that blames Ajith and his friends for his death. With fear and urgency pushing them, Ajith and his crew decide to dispose of the body with help from their pothead seniors Genie Nithin Krishnamurthy and Echo [Shravan], along with Swami, which spirals into a series of unpredictable, comic mishaps as the group scrambles to keep the secret under wraps and avoid spiraling consequences.

The plot thickens when it’s revealed that Ramesh Kumar is actually alive and has been guiding Ajith to shoot a short film about his supposed death inside the hostel, a project undertaken with Ajith’s cousin Nikki (portrayed by Arvind Kashyap). This meta-film angle recalibrates the entire night, turning the students’ prank into a creative endeavor that blurs the line between fiction and reality, prompting everyone to improvise with improvisation, timing, and a surprising amount of heart.

At around 5:00 am, the truth fully surfaces, and the group decides to complete the climactic sequence on camera, transforming their earlier escapades into a learning moment about responsibility, collaboration, and the ethics of storytelling. After wrapping the climax, they head back to study, while Ramesh reconsiders his duties and the role he plays in guiding the next generation.

As exam prep resumes, a fresh shock lands: the principal has committed suicide after a leaked question paper, and the entire exam schedule is cancelled. This crisis adds a final layer of irony to the semester, underscoring the chaotic, affectionate, and sometimes ridiculous resilience of hostel life. The tale lingers on the balance between ambition and restraint, reminding viewers that friendship, creativity, and accountability can collide in the most unexpected, humorous, and human ways.
