Sang-man is a deeply troubled individual grappling with a foggy past and a sense of isolation from his family. His journey begins on a desperate note as he attempts to end his life by overdosing on pills, a bid that ultimately fails. Driven by despair, he leaps off a bridge into a river, but fate intervenes, and he is saved. Upon awakening in the hospital, he notices a mysterious man smoking by his bedside. Despite his efforts to alert the other patients, they dismiss his claims, as they cannot see this enigmatic figure. His hospital stay unveils the presence of four other unseen individuals: a sad elementary school student ghost, an elderly man, and a grieving young woman who appears to be constantly crying.
