The robbers’ drama unfolds quickly: one bandit’s mask slips, the coach driver recognizes him, and because his identity is now known, the outlaw is killed by his partner, Velvet Clark. Back in town, Clark presents a portrait of respectability—a mine owner who can eerily render classical music—a secret he clearly hopes others never discover.
