Gulaebaghavali 2018

The film opens in 1945, under British rule in India, where a British gentleman and his quick-witted porter uncover a stash of priceless diamonds. The porter pockets the stones by wrapping them in his veshti, hides some in the luggage, and cunningly sends the gentleman away. He carefully cuts the gems and buries the diamonds inside a trunk near a temple in the Gulaebaghavali village.

Fast forward to 2018, where Maasha [Revathi] fools Mayilvaganam [Sathyan Sivakumar] and makes him believe her son is dead. She also steals his black BMW and sells it for money. Meanwhile, Badri [Prabhu Deva] and his boss Nambi [Mansoor Ali Khan] scrape by with petty thefts. At a pub, Badri falls for Viji [Hansika Motwani], and a misunderstanding pushes him toward a fateful plan: he unknowingly agrees to steal a priceless statue from the temple at Gulaebagavali, where he again runs into Viji.

The two escape the villagers and land in the grip of Sampath [Madhusudhan Rao] and his brother-in-law, who is also Munish’s boss [Anandaraj]. Nambi and Sampath’s in-law figure push Badri and Viji toward a bigger score, sending them to Gulaebaghavali to seize the trunk. A photo later reveals that Sampath is the porter’s grandson, tying the past to the present con.

With some help from Munishkanth and Maasha, they manage to steal the chest. Munish opens it to discover a chilling surprise: a skeleton lies inside, guarding the diamonds as if protecting a long-buried secret. After a flurry of confusion, they deliver the trunk, and the group realizes the diamonds are incredibly valuable. The chase intensifies when the hand of the skeleton falls into Maasha’s car during the ensuing struggle.

A flashback explains how the skeleton fractured in the commotion, leaving a severed hand behind in Maasha’s possession. Faced with the truth about Maasha’s deceptions, the trio sets out to confront her. Meanwhile, a parallel thread follows Mayilvaganam and a don named Annachi [Rajendran], building toward a climactic confrontation that threads through the film’s twists and turns.

In the end, the intertwined stories—past secrets unearthed by the trunk and present schemes among Badri, Viji, Sampath, Munishkanth, Maasha, and their allies—converge toward a finale that resolves the fates of diamonds, loyalties, and the elusive truth behind the chained history of the Gulaebaghavali treasure.
