After a quick narration by Salvatore Stabile and a brief flash forward, the film opens with four friends gathered in Ray’s basement for a Saturday night: Tony Tucci as Zane, Thomas Brandise as Mikey, Michael Parducci as Ray, and Tom Malloy as Chicken. Through the steady cadence of Stabile’s narration, we peel back the layers of their lives and the heavy histories that bind them, painting a portrait of a night that spirals into violence and consequence.

Ray carries the quiet weight of loss; his parents died when he was young, and his relationship with his older brother, now his guardian Mark, remains bitter and fraught. Zane grows up without a father, his schooling punctuated by upheaval until he’s finally expelled from his mother’s home for conduct that proves hard to rein in. Chicken’s early life is defined by trauma—he witnesses the murder of his older brother and is abandoned by his mother when he’s just fifteen. Mikey’s background is framed by a misery-filled marriage between his parents, and he emerges as the group’s bullied outcast, a boy who has already contemplated suicide on more than one occasion before this night.

Early in the evening, a heated argument jolts the house awake and draws in a fight with Mark. In a moment of panic, Zane grabs what he believes is an unloaded pistol, aims, and shoots, killing Mark. The group pleads to call the police, but Zane’s insistence on silence prevails, and they seal the tragedy by burying the body with the help of JoJo the Junkie. The night’s momentum shifts as Ray and Zane become openly hostile, driving a wedge through the group and splitting them into rival factions.

Desperation nudges them toward JoJo again, this time to help cover another crime. JoJo, a local drug dealer with a violent past and a long record, agrees to bury Mark’s body for a price—$500 and a severed thumb as a grim concession to the deal. What follows is a night spent chasing money and safety through a string of illegal acts: a failed drug transaction, a bold armed robbery at a convenience store, and the constant pressure of keeping their most dangerous secret hidden.

When the crew returns to Mikey’s home to borrow money from his father, they discover a different kind of betrayal: Mikey’s father is having an affair with another woman. Anger erupts into violence, and Mikey seizes Zane’s pistol, killing both his father and the woman who stands by him. The group manages to scrounge money from Mikey’s sister, who despises how they treat Mikey and them in return, delivering only sharp words and no real support, throwing Mikey into a hollow moment of doubt and despair.

JoJo refuses to bury all three bodies, so the group leaves two in his basement and takes one with them, stashing it in the car’s trunk. They drift toward the morning with a bruised sense of solidarity, parking near the beach to sleep away the night. By morning, Mikey, overwhelmed by the night’s consequences, climbs to the edge of a bridge and leaps onto a busy freeway below, ending his life.

In a brutal cascade of events, Zane shoots Ray as he’s being disposed of, and Chicken, in turn, shoots Zane as he attempts to dump Ray’s body in the car. The trio’s final act of destruction comes as Chicken hot-wires a blaze—dousing the car and its passengers in gasoline and setting it alight. The explosion seals the night’s calamity and eradicates the group of childhood friends. The closing narration returns to Stabile’s voice, noting that he moved away from Gravesend afterward and that the police investigation ended after a few months of questioning, leaving a lingering sense of tragic closure.
