After reading that egg prices are soaring, Donald the duck decides to become rich by stealing a haul of eggs from a nearby hen‑house. Guarded by a rooster, his first attempt fails, so he returns disguised as a hen. The rooster falls for the ruse, but Donald’s flimsy costume—loose rubber‑glove comb and a crawling caterpillar—keeps him on the brink of exposure.

Donald Duck spots a newspaper headline announcing that the eggs’ value is soaring and prices are rising, sparking a quick-money scheme. He slips into the henhouse and tinkers with the music from the record player, triggering a lively sequence where the hens dance and eggs pop out as they’re gathered into a massive basket. A vigilant rooster keeps watch and kicks him out into the yard.
To avoid getting caught, he disguises himself as a hen, only to be mistaken for the rooster’s supposed love interest. The pair share a dance, but the masquerade is fragile: the rubber glove comb keeps slipping, and a caterpillar slides down the back of his suit, keeping him barely in control of his cover. The tension rises as he must stay convincing while staying one step ahead of discovery.
Eventually he’s forced to dance with the rooster, and the climax erupts as he spins like a tornado—the disguise finally comes apart. The rooster sees through the ruse and resumes the chase. In a frantic scramble, Donald grabs the huge basket of eggs, but two tumble out and he slips back into the basket, cracking the remaining eggs in the process. With the rooster crowing in victory, Donald Duck mumbles his defeat.
