It is believed that Anjali’s twin sister Geetha has committed suicide, a tragedy that casts a long shadow over her upcoming life. Anjali is betrothed to Anoop, a member of a prominent family who works in Mumbai, and the couple’s plans are tangled with family duty, love, and fear. When Anjali’s mother falls from a terrace and becomes bedridden and paralyzed, the two families travel to the quiet backwater of Arackal, Kerala, where the wounds of the past begin to surface with a chilling persistence. Once there, Geetha’s presence—real or imagined—begins to haunt Anjali, unsettling her deeply and setting off a chain of terrifying events that ripple through the household.

As the haunting intensifies, a web of strange occurrences and signs of supernatural pressure unsettle everyone. Anjali’s distress catches the attention of Nakulan, who seeks the help of Dr. Sunny Joseph, a physician brought in from far away to treat what appears to be a psychological crisis that may have spiritual underpinnings. Dr. Sunny Joseph eventually arrives, and his arrival brings a mix of professional concern and stubborn skepticism as he tries to understand whether the haunting is a real spectral visitation or a manifestation of suppressed fears and family tensions.

With the house deemed haunted by a collective anxiety, the family eventually purchases a new home, hoping to escape the malignant energy. The mystery deepens when Vasu, the future owner, claims to have seen Geetha in a car and writes down her number, offering to share it the next day. Before he can, a chilling summons from Geetha’s spirit arrives in a way that can’t be ignored, and Vasu is drawn toward a church after being told to meet Geetha there. A desperate chase unfolds: Sunny pursues by car after seeing a fleeing vehicle, but the killer has already vanished. Anjali confesses to Sunny that Geetha had learned of Anoop’s love for Anjali and that those who know the truth are in danger, prompting Sunny to seek guidance from Kadalikkattu Thirumeni, whose own investigations reveal that Anjali is being possessed by Geetha’s ghost.

The story grows darker with a sequence of gruesome incidents, including the death of Thambichayan, a caretaker at Arakal. Sunny warns that the “ghost” haunting Anjali may be more psychological than supernatural, and he attempts to postpone the engagement in the interest of gathering hard evidence. Anoop resents Sunny’s interference and forces him out of the house, only to witness the escalating danger as Thambichayan dies in a cottage fire. On the engagement day, Sunny physically intervenes by pulling Anoop aside and driving him to a graveyard, where he reveals a startling truth: Anjali is actually Geetha, whose criminal intentions now threaten everyone.

A flashback unspools the core motive: Anjali and Anoop had fallen in love, but Geetha—seeing no future with the man she desires—misreads the situation and resolves to exact revenge on Anjali. Sunny then shows Anoop a grave that represents Anjali, and the full truth begins to emerge about the tangled loyalties and hidden guilt that had been fueling the terror. It is revealed that Vasu was killed by Thambi, the only other person who knew the true sequence of events aside from Geetha and her mother. Thambi is later killed by Geetha herself, ensuring that no one can easily uncover the truth.

The tension peaks as Sunny’s cautious efforts to build a case stall while Anoop confronts Geetha’s dangerous plans. Geetha tries to kill Anoop during a confrontation, and for a moment it seems she might succeed. She shoots, but the gun is not loaded, and in a critical moment, an image of Anjali’s spirit appears in Geetha’s mind, seemingly on a reflective surface, and halts her violent impulse. Geetha is consumed by a fire in the house, and her end is witnessed by Anjali’s spirit, who watches over the scene with a quiet, protective presence.

In the aftermath, Geetha’s grave is built beside Anjali’s, a symbolic closing of the two sisters’ story. Anoop and his family, grateful for Sunny’s intervention, acknowledge the fragile line between fear and truth and the difficult work of uncovering what lies beneath the surface. The film closes on a note of reconciliation and relief, with Sunny having steadied a family torn apart by suspicion, tragedy, and a haunting that was as much a tether to the past as a doorway to a harder, more truthful future.
