Keerthi is a talented wrestler, deeply passionate about her sport and determined to succeed despite the obstacles she faces. Supported by her uncle Ganesan, she encounters resistance from her own parents, who believe her wrestling career makes it harder for her to find a suitable marriage. They are also concerned about dowry demands from potential grooms, which she refuses to accept, standing firm against traditional expectations.

Her uncle Ganesan visits his friend Ratnam, who is trying to arrange a marriage for his nephew, Veera, played by Vishnu Vishal. Veera has very specific requirements for his future wife: he wants her to be submissive, have long hair, and not be more educated than him, as he only completed eighth standard. Wanting to help Keerthi and her family, Ganesan offers an alliance between her and Veera. Although Keerthi is furious about having to pretend to fit into such stereotypical roles, she reluctantly agrees to the marriage to satisfy her father. When they meet, Veera is immediately captivated by Keerthi, and the feelings become mutual when he refuses to accept dowry, leading her to develop genuine affection for him.

After their wedding, the couple moves to Veera’s hometown. However, trouble soon erupts when Veera gets into a confrontation with a local political leader, Dass. Dass retaliates by imprisoning [Ratnam] and threatening Keerthi’s safety. During a visit to a temple, Dass attacks Veera, and although he is cornered, Keerthi steps forward to defend him, revealing her true strength and resilience. She warns Dass that if he tries to hurt Veera again, he will have to go through her first. This act of bravery earns her respect in the village, and Veera, ever meek and fearing for her safety, begins to follow her lead.

Meanwhile, [Ratnam] is released from jail and learns about Keerthi’s new status and her rising respect within the community. He visits her home and mocks her, insulting her new identity, which prompts Keerthi to slap him in anger. Misunderstandings arise when Veera misinterprets the slap, thinking she did it out of frustration with him, leading him to slap her in return. Heartbroken and upset, Keerthi leaves home with her uncle [Ganesan], returning to her parents’ house until Veera can come to his senses.

Soon, Keerthi finds herself enrolled in an upcoming wrestling tournament, but initially believes it was Ganesan’s idea. The truth is that her father enrolled her himself, wanting her to have the chance to be herself beyond societal expectations. However, she refuses to participate until she receives divorce papers from Veera—papers that [Ratnam] secretly files without Veera’s knowledge. Driven by a desire to prove himself, Veera, manipulated by [Ratnam], also signs up for the same wrestling event. Their coach, Lokesh, played by [Kaali Venkat], agrees to help Veera train and even arranges a match between Veera and Keerthi to boost his coaching business.

As Veera trains and trains, he begins to see the harsh realities women face in wrestling and develops a newfound respect for Keerthi’s persistence and passion. During this time, Veera’s mother reveals her awareness of Keerthi’s true feelings and her admiration for her strength. She questions why Keerthi agreed to the marriage, prompting Keerthi to admit her genuine liking for Veera. Veera, moved by her honesty, seeks to reconcile, but Lokesh manipulates the situation, deceiving Veera into believing Keerthi no longer wants to speak with him.

On the day of the big match, a complication arises when doctors discover that Keerthi is pregnant, making her ineligible to compete. Lokesh deliberately keeps this information from her and insists that the match must still go on. During the competition, Keerthi unexpectedly faints, and Veera rushes to her side. Although he wants to leave with her to the hospital, Lokesh pressures him to continue fighting another female wrestler. Frustrated and furious at this interference, Veera refuses to fight and only agrees to face Lokesh himself. The fight turns intense when Lokesh taunts Veera by revealing that Keerthi is pregnant. Overcome with anger, Veera fights Lokesh fiercely, defeating him and severely injuring him.

Following the match, Veera addresses the crowd about the trials women face in chasing their dreams and the obstacles they overcome, highlighting the importance of support rather than opposition. Afterwards, he visits Keerthi at the hospital, where she is healing, and learns about the divorce papers. He reveals that [Ratnam] was responsible for manipulating the situation and insists he does not want the divorce. However, Keerthi explains she wants to end their marriage so she can give their child a fighting chance in life—one she was never able to have herself.

In a heartfelt moment, Veera assures her that both their future and her career can go hand in hand after the baby is born. He promises to be her support and emphasizes that from now on, she only needs to focus on her opponent in the ring, not on her family’s doubts or prejudices. Their reconciliation signifies a new beginning filled with mutual respect and understanding.

Over the course of a year and a half, Keerthi continues to excel in wrestling, winning another match while Veera and their daughter cheer her from the sidelines. Her journey from a passionate athlete fighting societal expectations to a celebrated champion symbolizes her strength and resilience, inspiring those around her to pursue their dreams regardless of the hurdles they face.
