Set at the close of the 21st century as humanity expands into space, Tezuka Osamu weaves an omnibus‑style love story reminiscent of Bradbury’s *Martian Chronicles*. After marrying, a woman departs Earth; her husband suddenly succumbs to a mysterious cosmic disease, leaving her stranded in orbit. Her friends on Earth launch a rescue mission for the woman once revered as the ideal lady. Throughout, Tezuka underscores his belief that love can save both the planet and humanity.
